Prinicpal's Message:

I am proud to be the principal at Rosemont Early Education Center. In my career with the Los Angeles Unified School District, I have been an elementary school teacher, coordinator, and assistant principal. As an educator and a parent, I recognize the importance of an early start to a child’s education.

At Rosemont EEC, we believe students learn from the many experiences they have through interactions with their teachers and peers through intentional lessons and play. Our students learn how to problem solve, express themselves, and negotiate with their peers.

We are a Cognitively Guided Instruction in Math School (CGI Math). CGI Math starts with the teacher observing a child’s mathematical thinking when giving the child mathematical tasks and problems. We know all students have some knowledge of mathematics. A primary mathematics goal for preschool students is for them to develop basic number concepts. Learning to count is one of the earliest mathematical activities that children engage in. We give our students plenty of opportunities to count with counting collections while teachers observe their counting to see how they are thinking. Then teachers build upon their thinking with other mathematical activities. We have noticed that our students love math, are successful at math, and are enthusiastic about math during indoor and outdoor learning time.
